Double O of Kidz in the Hall Assaulted

I got this story in an email and I thought it was interesting. It's a shame this event went down as the Kidz in the Hall were supposed to perform at one of Hip Hop's largest concert platform, the Rock the Bells Festival, and they were a no -show. Love goes out to both Naledge and especially Double O. iLL Vibes wishes him a speedy recovery.

"Double 0 of Kidz In The Hall badly assaulted by security after performance; Management issues statement"

"Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge's attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.

In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall have traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers."

Rock The Bells Coverage: Afrika Bambaataa & B-Boys

This is another segment from the Rock the Bells Tour this past weekend. The dopest thing about Rock the Bells was that they had two stages so that in between performances on the major stage by some of the bigger named artists, you could go to the second stage and watch other people perform. The best thing about the second stage was that only a handful of people went there so we got to go directly to the front of the stage. In between the Method Man and Pharcyde set, Afrika Bambaataa performed for about an hour. It was a ridiculous experience as he really took it back to good old days when people went to the park to party and break. B-boys actually stepped up and started breaking which added to the experience. I definitely have to give them props because they were doing it on the concrete. Check it out!

A few weeks ago, we dropped a post about Nike 1 world's collaboration with renowned street artist Kaws. Check out his bio here if you don't know who he is. Three days ago, he released a new 8'' toy, inspired by the mascot of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Pi-pokun. Kaws is well known for designs which incorporate his trademark X, apparent in place of the eyes and on the hands of the JJP doll. I am really diggin' Kaw's work and if you like this design I highly encourage you to check out some of his other work on his site. Kaw's brand, Original Fake, has also released a set of matching T-shirts for the JJP doll available at Original Fake retailers and online here. When I first looked at the interior, I thought it was a car because there is so much free space, which is far different from the cockpits of most planes/jets.
