Video: Calvin Harris's Humanthesizer

So Scotland's Calvin Harris has a project that dropped today in the UK, aptly titled Ready for the Weekend. I got a chance to listen to the project, and I must say that I was duly impressed, from beginning to end. The production creates a feel-good vibe but mixed in with the lyrics, what you have is a very complex project, detailing not only the emotion of good times but also pure, raw emotion (for instance, on such songs as "Worst Day"). I encourage you to stream the project somewhere and realize that this is a must-buy project. If that does not convince you, well, check out this ridiculous video below of the first human synthesizer.

MUSIC VIDEO: H.O.P.E. - Nightlife

This song is straight dope, LOVE that night feel for the track. The video is a simple night joint too. The remix was crazy with Mickey Factz & UNI. Check that below.

Music Video: Nelly - Let It Go (Lil Mama) (feat. Pharrell)

Nelly is coming back with some heat from the Pharrell. Will this connection brew up success again? I dont know, but I definitely love the trumpets on this track. His flow on this track sounds wierd tho, this is not really Nelly's style. I'm used to the St. Louis casual flow, not this flow where he is trying to articulate every word he is saying....

Music Video: Diplo – Twist & Shout (Shake It Up) (Ferris Bueller video mix)

Diplo puts his touch on song that is instantly connected with the cult classic film "Ferris Bueller." This has a feel good vibe to it, especially with the dope remix. This joint makes me think of my childhood, can you imagine doing this shit that Ferris did??? Crazy, skipped outta school HELLUVA lotta times, made his principal look lika damn fool, had a fine girl he got outta school too impersonating her dad, convinced his friend into taking his ride, jumped into a city parade.....ok I'm gonna stop. I think ima see this movie again asap. Simply classic and Diplo really knows how to get the party started.

Music Video: Mayer Hawthorne - Maybe So, Maybe No

I can't get enough of this dudes old school style. When I listen to this I straight think about the 60s, and I can't wait for his project "A Strange Arrangment" coming out in the Fall. Better yet, I can't wait to catch this guy on tour in September. Video is kind of boring, just another sunny day in California with skateboarders, but then again you can't be too mad at that.

Flashback Video: Cam'ron - What Means the World To You

Just got finished watching Entourage. This episode was aight, but I was hype to see them play this song at the end during the credits. This was my jam back in like 9th grade, I remember playing this song out blastin up in my headphones. This is back when Killa Cam was hella dope and 20 lbs. fatter. I used to love "Horse & Carriage" with (Murda) Mase and Charli Baltimore. "Confession of Fire" was a pretty solid album from Cam. Anyways, go back in the time and check the track and look at Jim Jones acting a fool

Music Video: Marques Houston - Sunset

I'm a Marques Houston fan, def loved his first self-titled album and hell I even listened to some of his tracks when he was with Immature / IMX when I was a youngin. I'm on my soft shit lol, but this track is pretty smooth, I'm surprised why the song/video did not come out last year. Management problem? Label issues? Welcome to the game. It happens to everybody, even the best of em. I mean this dude had a solid single in "Circle" a little bit before this. Nevertheless, the white guitars in the video are dope.

Music Video: Maxwell - Bad Habits

Check out the latest video for the single "Bad Habits" off Maxwell's critically acclaimed album "Blacksummer's Night" Pretty simple and boring video but I am defintely a fan of the song. This joint is a typical VH1 Soul video on the grown man ish. lol. So get ya grown man on...

Music Video: Termanology "Nobody's Smiling" (Produced and Directed by Statik Selektah)

I'm really digging the raw feel of this video. I especially like the scenes with the b-boys breaking. For those of you who live in NY, be sure to head out to Termanology's listening party tonight at 10pm at Sutra. Statik will be spinning on the wheels of steel.

Video: Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

Peeped this on the Drizzy website, which I liked. It has a very nostalgic, 60s kinda feel to the song. It sounded like something Mayer Hawthorne or Chester French would do. The video is also very creatively done....but kinda creepy. Relax, chill, and click play.

Music Video: Pitbull - Hotel Room

Pitbull keeps bringin out the dance hits man. I was a big fan of Calle Ocho and I am positive this one is gonna bring more heat to the end of the summer. I've met Pit twice in Miami and dude is always humble, gotta give him props on how he can get a party poppin. Also... side note...he must have fun at his female casting sessions....

Music Video: J $crilla - "Guns & Butter" feat. XO and K-Beta (Produced by J-Scrilla

Check out the video from the homie J $crilla, beat is hella dope and its a funny video. Oh yeah...and did I say there was some eye candy courtesy of Mizza Na'Tasha. Video is sure to please with some nice verses from XO and K-Beta. DMV Stand Up! Shoutout to Innerloop Records!!!

Music Video: DJ Class - I'm the Ish / MP3: Marky - I'm the Ish (DC Mix) feat. DJ Class & Kanye West

LOL at the video. Kinda ghetto, but man this song gets the club poppin and I'm happy to see the dude is straight reppin the Baltimore area. Of course the remix with Ye is hella better.

Music Video: Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend

It's FRIIIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAY!!!! With that being said, Calvin Harris (all the way from the UK) is going to set the agenda for the next two days. Who is ready for the weekend? Funky feeling coming with this song and who can say they do not appreciate the lovely ladies in the video with the vibrant colors. Harris is a really dope act from overseas and I can't wait for his album "Ready for the Weekend" to drop August 17th

WEEKEND TIME!

Music Video: Skooda Chose, Mikey Rocks, and Twista - Loungin'

Who is this dude?!?! From the first couple of seconds of the track, I got goosebumps and I feel like this dude DEFINITELY got something going for him. I love hip hop like this...this is the kind of track that makes you feel cool as shit when you driving to this or just walking into the metro hooked up to your ipod.

Skooda Chose got sucha dope and smooth delivery. I wish I knew more about him...but I dont...but as a dedicated blogger I'm def going to get to researching. Fellow Chi-Town native Mikey Rocks of The Cool Kids blesses the track as well. Blended Babies are the dope production team consisting of Reach and Colin Response that laced the track.

Blended Babies featuring Skooda Chose, Mikey Rocks, and Twista - Loungin'

As the grand finale, Twista murks the track with his legendary bullet delivery although he doesn't rap as fast as he does on that Alchemist track "Smile" (that speed is just retarded). Finally, I have to give props to the video, very well done with dope imagery as these cats just walking round their barrio rappin reppin their hood.

"I'm just making money and loungin"

Video: Skyzoo "The Beautiful Decay"

I heard this track about a month ago, and I was entranced by this beat. 9th Wonder deserves MEGA props for this track. I can't wait until "The Salvation" drops on September 29th. I am going to be dropping mad money this fall on LPs (Termanology, Canibus, Statik Selektah, Slaughterhouse, MOP, Grand Puba?, Skyzoo...to be continued). Oh yeah, the video is dope too.

Video: Empire of the Sun - Standing on the Shore

I seriously do not know what they eat/drink/etc. in Australia to create these interesting electronic groups. Several months ago, we posted the video for "Walking on a Dream", and here we have an innovative depiction of the group's latest single. By the way, if you haven't seen Cut Copy or the Presets live or any similarly-related group, you're missing out!!

Music Video: Big Sean "Getcha Some"

Man visuals in this video are ill. Reminds me of Ye's "Good Life"
