Instrumental Remix EP: Melo-X - "BLACKsummers’ night"

The release of Maxwell's lastest album "Black Summer's Night" has created a huge buzz in the industry. First, because of his comeback because in his prime a couple of years back Maxwell could make the panties drop with the quickness with his falsetto. Second, people are talking about the project because it is a simply beautiful album.

The homie Melo-X def realized this and decided to put his production to the test and remix the album to create an instrumental EP. So, if you are trying to mellow out to some smooth music or if you are an aspiring artists that needs a change with the same old humdrum beats get this project. I definitely recommend the work of Melo-X.

EP: The Perfect Median - "This Morning EP"

WARNING: Listening to this record at high volumes may cause an eargasm. This joint is dope.

"Originally this was only supposed to be a couple of songs. When I say a couple, I mean like, two. I’ve been calling back and forth talking with Grip H all day, as some more of our old stuff may (or may not) be hitting the Kevin Nottingham site soon. I will let time tell that story. What I present to you right now though, is the latest effort from Grip H and me as The Perfect Median, the group from which most of my body of work comes to date. The way this record is put together is as follows:
Side A is two older tracks that we recorded many moons ago. Not too many moons, though, cause I haven’t been making beats that long.
Side B is new tracks that we’ve recently penned and recorded. All of the beats were handled in house with the exception of the last track which was a 9th Wonder beat. Big ups to 9th Wonder (for not letting us officially use this beat, haha). So here is some more music for the $free.99"

LP: Damu The Fudgemunk "Same Beat" & "Overtime"

For those of you who are unaware, Damu The Fudgemunk is a notable producer from Washington, DC and a member of the group Y Society. The following are two instrumental albums that he released within the past year. The "Same Beat" EP, which was released in May of this year, features 3 tracks (1 new Y society track and a couple bonus tracks). The "Overtime" LP includes 12 full length tracks, album covers, two videos, and liner notes in PDF format. You will not be disappointed; I'm a big fan of his music. Enjoy!

Where Ya At?

EP: Young Electrik

Dopeness coming from the duo of Preston Powell, and Luis Valdizon. This group has a taste of electronica, alternative and a foundation of hip hop all in one. I was a big fan of their flip on Kanye West's "Bad News". The first three tracks are originals and the others are remixes. And of of course it doesn't hurt to have a beast MC like Theo on the project. Big consign on this one!

So this is a project that Asher made back in '06. I'm not gonna lie: this jawn cranks hard. His style has changed dramatically over the years; nevertheless, this is a pretty nice project.
