Roy Jones Jr. took a tough loss on Saturday night against Joe Calzaghe at New York's Madison Square Garden. Although Jones managed a first round knockdown against Calzaghe, his intensity soon began to fade as Calzaghe was awarded every round following the first round by all three judges. This loss drops Jones's record to 52-5 and elevates Calzaghe's record to 46-0. For those of you who don't know Calzaghe took on Bernard Hopkins earlier this year and took him out following a similar first round knockdown. Jones's face was bloodied throughout much of the fight after a cut was sustained above his eye in one of the intial rounds. Both fighters are currently considering retirement. I wish Roy Jones Jr. would have retired when he was still undefeated.
