Kobe Bryant was not going to let it happen tonight, no way. It looked like he was possessed, all of those mid-range shots from Game 1 and 2 were gone as he was taking the ball to the hole. Within the first quarter alone he had almost all of the entire Laker team fouls in Game 2. The free throw disparity between the teams was a lot more reasonable as the Lakers had it 34 to 22.
Similar to Leon Powe in Game 2, Sasha Vujacic had the game of his career as he had 20 points making a key three pointer down the stretch. His shot was just on and he was always ready to take it without any second thoughts as he shot 7 for 10 from the field.
However, in the third quarter Boston went on a run with Garnett waking up making several hard contested shots over Gasol. Ray Allen's shot was also on point as he lead the Celtics with 25 points shooting 5 for 7 from the three point lead. The Boston Celtics went up by as much as 4 in the third quarter. Unfortunately for the Celtics Paul Pierce, one of their consistent offensive threats struggled throughout the game only scoring 6 points as he was 2 for 14 from the field.
Kobe was a man on the mission though as he put the game on his shoulders. When he was double teamed by Garnett and Allen he kicked it out to Odom who found a wide open Vujacic that nailed a crucial three. When Kobe was guarded one on one by Allen he made him pay twice making a sweet fadeaway and a pump-fake shot to seal the victory. The series is now 2-1, and the Lakers must feel confident now as they won a game in which two of their key players in Odom and Gasol struggled. Check the box score for more information.
