Classic Video: Gangstarr "Mass Appeal"

Gangstarr on the real is one of my favorite groups. I still feel like Guru is underrated as a rapper and that DJ Premier still isn't recognized as much as he should be for the classic material he has produced. His style of sampling on choruses was just ridiculous and this beat stays encapsulated in my mind. Just look at the name of the track, and look at rap now cause there are too many MCs out there that have sold their soul for mass appeal (e.g. LL Cool J back in the day and now lol).


My fav lyrics in this song is when Guru spits, "I represent set up shit like a tent boy / You're paranoid cause you're a son like Elroy/ And you'd be happy as hell to get a record deal/ Maybe your soul you'd sell to have mass appeal."
