Everyone who knows me knows that I love watching Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel. I was recently checking out PopSci.com (another favorite) and I came across this interesting article about the Glyptapanteles wasp, often called the Voodoo wasp (which is messed up in the first place, but that is another conversation). Basically this wasp impregnates caterpillars and other insects with about 80-90 eggs which then hatch and breakout of the host insect's body. The crazy thing is that once impregnated, the host insect ceases movement until the eggs hatch at which point "[it] involuntarily protects them from attack by thrashing wildly in the presence of predators".
