Mike Posner - Kiss Me Thru the Phone (Remix)
...I guess I am not the only one LOL
Be sure to cop "Matter of Time"
Let's peruse the essentials of cool ...
Check out this poem by the homie Steven Logas. Poetry is a great form of expression that I don't believe gets the respect it deserves. Def Poetry Jam was my shit, and I'm still a little irritated that they decided to discontinue it two years ago. Anyway, check it out & let him know what you think.
This VA emcee has been making a lot of moves lately, and it surely helps with the Drake co-sign. But, seriously, this mixtape is a must download.
Our affiliate Gowhere Hip Hop had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Trey Songz to get the latest from this standout VA artist. Check it out below:
I love this track. It's so chill. Props to anyone who can put me on to the sample. Let it marinate.

The homie Propayne comes through with that fire!

So I finally got the chance to download this project, and I have to say this is a must-listen project. There are many features, and Donny continuously shines over and over on this album, especially with the incredible production.
Rick Cordero keeps demonstrating why he is one of the dopest up and coming video producers, i can wait for his film "Inside a Change". I really like the sound of the Kickdrums, the production is incredible.
New mixtape from the Brooklyn MC "RH Bless". I'm not going to lie, it took me a while to get used to his flow but once I became acclimated, I was on board. His lyrical acuity is on point. Check him out.
Swift, clever and poignant rhymes over classic old school beats is exactly what RH Bless delivers on Bring That Beat Back Vol. 1 via Block Exchange Entertainment. The mixtape is a dedication to legendary East coast emcees like Rakim, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah and many more.
Bring That Beat Back showcases the Brooklyn emcee’s lyrical prowess over classic songs like Big Daddy Kane’s “Ain’t No Half-Stepping” and Brand Nubian’s “Slow Down.” The 14-track heater hosted by DJ Cool Kev is part one of a two part series which will feature Bless rapping over classic West coast-inspired beats on Vol. 2 to be released later this year.
“I wanted to pay homage to Hip-Hop’s past; emcees who laid down the foundation and inspired a subsequent generation of emcees. Plus I had to grab everyone’s attention and show you all my skills” says Bless about the mixtapes.
Bless is continuing to position himself as a major player on the independent scene with the impending release Vol.1. Previously he had released several mixtapes and street albums including The Struggle, the Hustle, the Prayer, Heart and Soul of the Streets and Power, Passion, Love. He’s also been featured on music alongside some artists like Talib Kweli, Royce 5’9, 40 Glock and Raekwon to name a few.
Bring That Beat Back will be available for free download. For more information on RH Bless visit Myspace.com/RHBless.

Behind every blog is a purpose, we hope. And so it is here, at Ill Vibes. There's no format, no organization, no agenda - simply a cornucopia of thoughts we hope to memorialize in this Internet medium. What common ground you may find is the interests shared among the administrators, four university students whose passions for music (especially the state of hip hop), art, travel, philosophy, comedy, dance, politics, pop culture, fashion, and - quite frankly - the good life have brought them together to share their essentials of cool. From reviewing the latest CD or introducing the world to the next incredible artist to documenting various travels or criticizing a latest concert, you'll find it all here and more! So enjoy, and definitely leave comments. Not only do we love to express ourselves, but one of our greatest traits lies in our listening to other people expressing themselves.
